Overall I feel like my application wasn't properly considered. Although I don't believe it is enough reason to reject a candiate. I admit this is my mistake, not coming from a python background. I might have not specifically named it Test.db though! 2. I did have a test database though, and I also had cleanup functions to reset the database state between tests to make sure that tests are completely independent. They thought I was using the real database for my tests.

After not hearing back from them for over a week, I emailed asking for an update and was told I was not selected.

Feeling pretty happy about my code, tests and documentation, I submitted the zip file. I did this to show that it was something I was considering and made sure to explain in my documentation that I ran out of time - so that maybe I could work on it in a live coding session if needed. I added lots of unit tests to show all the functionality I added, and even had a failing unit test to highlight a feature that I didn't manage to complete in time. The sample code was quite basic but I tried my best to improve it and list down the improvements I made - with the assumption that the person evaluating the code would be looking out for that. I thought it was a very simple task, simply adding some endpoints and storing data in a database. After submitting my CV I was sent a Python/Flask/SqlAlchemy code sample together with a list of requirements that I needed to complete. Unfortunately, my experience was nearly identical. So when i read the only available interview experience on glassdoor below, i took little notice to it being negative. Interview I don't usually take notice of negative interview experiences listed here - I assume they are written by people offended that they didn't get an offer.
